In 1917, she began her artistic\nstudies at the School of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture in Moscow. Then in 1920,\nshe moved to Smolensk, where she taught sculpture at the School of Ceramics. The\nfollowing year, she entered into a civil marriage with W\u0142adys\u0142aw Strzemi\u0144ski. During the\n1920s, the couple moved frequently (residing in Szczekociny, Brzeziny, \u017bakowice, and\nKoluszki) before settling permanently in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a in 1931.\nKobro was a member of the artistic groups Blok and Praesens and actively contributed to\nthe establishment of the a.r. Group's International Collection of Modern Art. In 1927, she\nand Strzemi\u0144ski designed a Tobacco Kiosk project for a competition organized by the\nWarsaw City Council. In 1931, the Modern Art Hall was inaugurated at the Museum in\n\u0141\u00f3d\u017a, and in 1946, Strzemi\u0144ski designed the Neoplastic Room, where Kobro\u2019s Spatial\nCompositions were displayed.\nIn 1936, she gave birth to her daughter, Nika. Katarzyna Kobro spent most of the war\nyears in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a. From 1949, she worked as a Russian language teacher at the First School\nof the Society of Friends of Children. Kobro passed away in 1951 at a hospice for the\nterminally ill in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-plain is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow is-style-plain--1\" style=\"padding-top:0;padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);padding-bottom:0;padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><em>...One must firmly and irrevocably realize once and for all that sculpture is neither literature, nor symbolism, nor an expression of individual psychological emotion. These photographs included projections from all sides of the structure. In my reconstruction, I assigned colors to the kiosk walls, although no information exists regarding the use of color in the original competition design. This decision was based on an analysis of other spatial projects by Katarzyna Kobro and W\u0142adys\u0142aw Strzemi\u0144ski.
